David Beckam - LA Galaxy transfer
David Robert Joseph Beckham, OBE (born May 2, 1975) is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Real Madrid.
The Los Angeles Galaxy is one of two professional soccer clubs based in Los Angeles, California that participate in Major League Soccer.
It was confirmed that on 11 January 2007 that David Beckham would be leaving Real Madrid to join MLS team Los Angeles Galaxy on a 5 year deal that will see Beckham earn up to $10 million a year in direct salary, but with endorsements and profit-sharing, Beckham could earn up to $50 million a year and earning about 90 dollars every second on the field.
"This week Real Madrid asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer to extend my contract for a further two seasons," said Beckham.
But getting Beckham to LA Galaxy will involve sending money to Real Madrid. The price for Becks transfer is $250 million.
Posh husband agreed for a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Becks will remain at Real, "practicing," until June 30, when the contract with the spanish team, Real Madrid will expire. If LA Gallaxy want to transfer the player earlyer, they must pay a percentage of Beckham's $11.3 million salary.
"He is not going to play any more. He will practice, but he is not going to play," sais Fabio Capello at a news conference.
