"Lip Gloss" is the debut Hit single by rapper Lil' Mama. It was released in 2007 and is the first single from her first solo album Voice of the Young People. On the weekend ending June 2, the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #95. The next week it fell out, but due to it being released to iTunes, it re-entered at #12 on the week ending June 16. It has since then peaked at #10. It has also charted in the United World Chart.
The music video shows Lil' Mama dancing and rapping at Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn. The video edit is different from the radio edit of the song. Before the third verse, the song switches to "No Music", where she then starts to rap off a hand clap, the B-side to her current single "Lip Gloss". The video peaked at number one on MTV's TRL and number six on BET's 106 & Park.
The "Lip Gloss" video was featured on MTV's Battle of the Videos against videos by Linkin Park and Evanescence; it lost to Linkin Park's "What I've Done" video by a wide margin.
Young Jeezy and The Pack (group) make appearances in the video.
