The pre-teen-y nature of the video seems a little, uh, insincere, coming from Avril who has recently talked openly about growing up and embracing glam more than punk. Sk8r chick Avril Lavigne confessed to MTV she's usually drunk when writing her best songs. When she wrote her first single from her third album, 'The Best Damn Thing', she was drunk. "While drunk and writing these songs on this album - it was so much fun recording in the studio. It's like my best record."
Avril's 'The Best Damn Thing' will be in-stores on April 17th. The album is said to be less mellow than previous Lavigne albums, and more punk and upbeat. Avril described the record as: "fast, fun, young, bratty, aggressive, confident, cocky in a playful way...all the good stuff."
