grey wolf weighing 80kg, has been shot in NW of Bulgaria, a reporters from Sofia said. The catch if confirmed to be the biggest ever.
The hunter Slavcho Slavchev killed the wolf near the village of Brusartzi, with a single bullet in the head while lying in ambush for other game. The wolf Slavcho sais, was six-year-old.
According to The International Wolf Centre IWC, in Ely in the US state of Minnesota, the heaviest wolf on record weighed 79.4kg.
There was no immediate independent confirmation of the weight of the animal Mr Slavchev said he had shot, but he ads that a 50kg wold is considered a superb tropy.
