SingTel Introduces BlackBerry Unite! to Singapore

SingTel today announced the introduction of BlackBerry® Unite! software in Singapore. The new software from Research In Motion (RIM) is a free download that helps small businesses and families to stay organized, in touch and able to collaborate while on the go using their BlackBerry® smartphones.

BlackBerry Unite! provides greater flexibility and connectivity and is ideal for small groups of up to five BlackBerry® smartphone users who may not have access to a centralized email or messaging server. BlackBerry Unite! allows them to share a calendar, contacts, pictures, documents and other desktop content..

Features of BlackBerry Unite! include:

  • Easy, wireless access of up to 10 supported email accounts per user, with advanced security options
  • A centralized address book that integrates wirelessly with BlackBerry smartphones, providing each group member with easy access to email addresses, phone numbers and other details for common contacts
  • Shared calendar functions, enabling group members to schedule or modify appointments and set reminders
  • Remote content access from a centralized desktop PC that is running BlackBerry Unite!, allowing users to download pictures, music, documents and other files remotely to their BlackBerry smartphones*
  • Content sharing – BlackBerry Unite! group members can share photos, documents and other files from their BlackBerry smartphones via the centralized desktop PC
  • Securing smartphones remotely – with simple, centralized controls, powerful security features such as password protection enforcement, or the ability to wirelessly erase content from a lost or stolen smartphone
  • Smartphone usage management – centralized control of smartphone usage can be programmed for each individual by customizable settings, for example, the ability to restrict long distance calls via area code, or preventing access to the Internet
  • Backup and protection of smartphone content – documents, pictures and other files stored on a microSD card in a BlackBerry smartphone can be encrypted as well as backed up automatically over the air to the centralized desktop PC**

BlackBerry Unite! can be downloaded quickly and easily for installation on a office or home PC. It is available today for SingTel customers at www.blackberry.com/singtel/blackberryunite. A data plan is required, and minimum PC system requirements apply. BlackBerry Unite! is free for SingTel BlackBerry subscribers.

*Downloaded content requires a BlackBerry smartphone with a microSD card for storage, sold separately.
