Sony Expands Line Of Compactflash Cards For High-Performance Digital Photography

Thu, Sep 13, 2007

Sony is expanding its family of CompactFlash® cards with two new 300x high-speed memory cards designed for high-end photographers requiring fast processing times. These high-speed cards are targeted towards users of digital single-lens reflex cameras, especially the new α(Alpha) DSLR- A700 model.

"DSLR cameras are enabling photographers to broaden their skills and capture higher-resolution images, and memory cards need to be able to keep pace with these developments," said Shane Higby, director of marketing for consumer media at Sony Electronics. "With their increased processing and response times, these new cards are the perfect tool for serious photographers who can't afford to miss a single shot."

The new CompactFlash cards will be available in 4GB and 8GB capacity, expanding Sony's current line that also includes 66x and 133x-speed models.

The new 300x cards are expected to be available this month at suggested list prices of $119.99 for the 4 GB model NCFD4G and $199.99 for the 8 GB model NCFD8G.
