Plextor Unveils PX-810UF: 18x External PC/Mac DVD ReWriter

Following the recently launched internal PX-800A & PX-810SA DVD ReWriters, Plextor announced its new external PX-810UF compatible with both Mac and PC systems.

The PX-810UF comes with a dual interface for extra flexibility - with both USB 2.0 and FireWire (IEEE1394) connectors on the rear panel (as denoted by the 'UF' suffix). In addition, the drive comes with a software package that includes Nero 7 Essentials (with Nero Express 7), and Plextools Professional LE.

The PX-810UF, which can burn a single-layer disc in just 5,5 minutes, is capable of the following DVD speeds:

• Write speed DVD+R DL: 10x
• Write speed DVD-R DL: 10x
• Write speed DVD+R: 18x
• Write speed DVD-R: 18x
• Write speed DVD+RW: 8x
• Write speed DVD-RW: 6x
• Write speed DVD-RAM : 12x
• Read speed DVD-ROM: 16x
• Write speed CD-R: 48x
• Write speed CD-RW: 32x
• Read speed CD-ROM: 48x

The Plextor PX-810UF will be available from July 2007 at Plextor's network of dealers. It is covered by Plextor's Fast Warranty Service (2-year warranty in the EU, Norway and Switzerland (Collect & Return); other countries 1-year carry-in). A range of full and trial software is included from Plextor (PlexTools LE) and Nero (Nero Express 7 Essentials).
