Alcatel-Lucent has joined efforts with VoIP Unlimited to provide Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking services to businesses in the UK. The new services allow business partners to provide small- to-medium-sized enterprises with next generation network connectivity, helping them reduce business costs and achieve greater efficiencies with minimal disruption.
VoIP Unlimited's SIP trunking services use voice over broadband to connect to VoIP Unlimited's core IP network from any location, offering significantly reduced line rental costs compared to ISDN connections. Furthermore, as well as enjoying free calls to other SIP trunking users, businesses will be able to retain their phone numbers even when moving premises in the UK, removing the need to rebrand or reprint sales and marketing collateral.
VoIP Unlimited SIP trunking services complement Alcatel-Lucent's OmniPCX office telephony system. Business partners that take on the new services will benefit from a free branded billing service, including commission on IP minutes, enabling them to gain additional revenues from their end-users.
