Glu Mobile Unveils New Games Titles

Today at CTIA Wireless 2007, Glu Mobile Inc., a leading global publisher of mobile games, announced its lineup of games launching this spring, including Poker Pop, the mobile adaptation of the addictive poker puzzler from PlayFirst. Glu will also launch a variety of retro arcade games, casual board game favorites, online hits and casual console titles from well-known brands such as Atari Inc., PlayFirst and Microsoft, as well as Glu's original title, Brain Genius.

According to Juniper Research, casual gamers and female gamers will be the ones driving mobile games revenues of more than $10 billion by 2009. With this in mind, Glu is continuing to provide mobile entertainment for a broad audience by creating games that casual and core gamers alike can pick up and enjoy.

"The breadth of Glu's talent and portfolio diversity really shine in our spring lineup," said Jill Braff, general manager of the Americas, Glu Mobile. "Glu games launching this spring showcase our ability to create quality games that appeal to a wide audience around the world."

Mobile gamers can look forward to the following titles from Glu Mobile this spring:

Poker Pop: The tile-based twist on poker received a four out of five and an Editor's Award from wgworld.com. A review from modojo.com said that Poker Pop, "presents basic poker concepts in a radically original way... it takes the concepts of poker's various hands and builds a unique puzzling experience on top of them." Poker Pop will be widely available in April.

Centipede: Glu's take on this arcade classic from Atari earned a four out of five and an Editor's Award from wgworld.com and four out of five stars from modojo.com. Centipede is now available on all major carriers.

Kasparov Chess: According to IGN.com, "Kasparov Chess plays smoothly and attractively, with a nice plethora of options to offer a unique experience with each game." Wgworld.com said Kasparov Chess "should be everyone's chess game of choice on mobile." Launched in February, this game is widely available on major carriers.

Brain Genius: This Glu original title was no. six on the Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association's (ELSPA) official mobile games download chart for February 2007 and has been in the top 10 titles for a number of European operators. Brain Genius earned the Silver Award and an eight out of ten from Pocket Gamer who said, "The latest mobile brain trainer is happily also the greatest… Brain Genius is excellent, in terms of its presentation, its game play, and its lasting challenge." This mind meld will be available in April.

Project Gotham Racing Mobile: PGR Mobile began its worldwide launch in February and is now available on Microsoft Windows Mobile phones. IGN recognized Project Gotham Racing Mobile as February 2007's Game of the Month, and gave it an 8.5 out of ten rating. PGR Mobile continues to roll out on carriers around the world.

Lemmings Return: Lemmings Return earned an 87/100 score from Mobile Game FAQs. Pocket Gamer gave the game an eight out of ten rating, a Silver Award and said, "much like the first mobile version, Lemmings Return doesn't disappoint." Look for more Lemmings when it launches in May.
