LG has announced the SH240, a new slider handset for the Korean market that features 3G HSDPA support and a 2 megapixel camera. This Bluetooth-enabled handset also features a combination of metal materials and a silicon covering that feels like real human skin. High-end handsets utilizing the sense of touch are becoming popular, with different materials being used to provide a sensory experience to users, but this is the first cell phone that we are aware of that is claimed to use a skin-like material.
The LG SH240 ships with a subway map (no word on cities covered) and a built-in dictionary, as well as an external memory card slot that can be filled with music for the included MP3 player.
The SH240 is expected to be priced at 400,000 Korean Won (US$400), though no availability date was announced.
