Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) will today demonstrate how it is addressing consumer lifestyle needs in a flagship keynote speech to be given by Andrea Ragnetti, CEO of Philips Consumer Lifestyle, at the 2008 Internationale Funkaustelling, IFA.
Mr Ragnetti will outline how, through its focused business portfolio and application of deep insight, design and relevant innovation, Philips’ new Consumer Lifestyle sector is making a difference to the lives of consumers, in particular, their health and well-being.
“Consumers are interested in enhancing or adding to their lifestyle,” Mr Ragnetti will tell the IFA Keynote audience. “Yes, that could mean offering them a new piece of technology, but it also means enabling them to enjoy a healthier and more rewarding lifestyle. Philips seeks to deliver experiences, not just technology, based on a clear understanding of what consumers want and involving the right partners to deliver it.”
The Consumer Lifestyle sector was formed on January 1 this year following the integration of Philips’ former Consumer Electronics and Domestic Appliances & Personal Care divisions. In his keynote, Mr Ragnetti will reflect on the creation of the new sector within the context of IFA 2008, which includes for the first time a strong representation from the white goods industry.
“The presence of home appliances at IFA this year reflects how white and brown goods are now part of the same consumer lifestyle marketplace,” Mr Ragnetti will say. “We are excited to be showing products here from both our traditional consumer electronics ranges and home appliances categories. This underlines Philips’ approach in addressing consumer well-being by providing comfort and enjoyment in all aspects of people’s lifestyles, whether it is entertainment, looking good, eating well or sleeping right.”
