Sun, Dec 24, 2006

The Project name is if Wikiasari, combination of wiki, the Hawaiian word for quick, and asari, which is Japanese for "rummaging search" and it has a provisional relese date in the first months of next year.
The same interview Wales said: "Google is very good at many types of search, but in many instances it produces nothing but spam and useless crap. Try searching for the term 'Tampa hotels', for example, and you will not get any useful results."
Wikiasari may be al alternative search method to the computer-based algorithmic searches, which can be easy manipulated. Mr Wales said also that human judgment will be significantly better.
Wikiasari will combine Google's PageRank technology with Wikipedia-like human editorial input. Like this the result will me more accurate.
The Times of London reported that Wikiasari project partnered with Amazon.com, but on the the Wikia main page it's says that it isn't.
Mr Wales also decared that it will be hard to catch Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft's MSN.
