Webs.com (formerly Freewebs), launches today the first cross-platform game through its Social Gaming Network (SGN). With this announcement, Webs.com's hugely popular game, WarBook, is now available on Bebo's social network, which heralds in the first cross-platform functionality and the first of Webs.com's SGN games to be played across multiple social networks.

Building on Webs.com's recent introduction of its Social Gaming Network (SGN), which develops and publishes games exclusively for social networks, WarBook will join the two walled social networks, providing the huge subculture that surrounds WarBook on Facebook the opportunity to compete against new Bebo users, bringing a new dimension to the game and creating real, cross-platform competition.

"With the advent of this cross-platform functionality, we are strengthening the respective communities of both Facebook and Bebo by allowing members of these social platforms to compete against each other in an unprecedented way," says Shervin Pishevar, president of Webs.com. "Building successful, sticky games for social networks is a very different discipline from building games for other outlets. Through the recent launch of SGN we are committed to innovating in the social gaming space and becoming the leading provider of games exclusively designed for social networks."

With its recent acquisition of FightClub, a top 10 Facebook Game, SGN is now the largest independent developer of games exclusively for inside social networks. WarBook was the first game from SGN to launch on Facebook in August 2007 and is now the first game to leverage people's social connections across platforms, transforming a typical gaming experience into one that is more relevant, more engaging, more competitive and, ultimately, more enjoyable for the player.

Social gaming is a rapidly growing segment among top applications on Facebook, and WarBook is the most active game by page views and the third largest game by active users on Facebook.

This new gaming experience is part of Webs.com's commitment to providing consumers the best social gaming experience with its library of specialist games. This month, SGN developed and launched Street Race, which quickly became the number one game by percentage of active users on Facebook, and counts among its other games, Blocky, launched in November, FightClub and Super Snake. SGN network will continue to leverage the power of the 'network effect' to expand its library of new games exclusively for social networks.
