Google took 47.4 percent of the December U.S. search market, gaining 0.4 share points from the previous month, according to the latest market study released by comScore Networks. Second place remains to Yahoo with 28.5 percent of U.S. searches, gaining 0.3 percent in December. Microsoft lost 0.5 % share points. InterActiveCorp's Ask.com's share dipped 0.1 percent to 5.4 percent.
In December, 6.7 billion searches were conducted by U.S, up 1 percent versus November. comScore Networks reported that the annual growth rates in search is 30-percent increase since the same month a year ago.
