ThinkFree, Inc., developer of the first online office productivity suite, has launched its newest online community for sharing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, ThinkFree Docs. ThinkFree Docs allows users to search, share, tag and publish Microsoft Office and ThinkFree documents in an online social community, much in the same way that Flickr allows photographers to publish and share photos.

Thinkfree Docs extends the existing ThinkFree Online community, a free web service for creating and editing office documents. ThinkFree is the world's most compatible alternative to Microsoft Office, runs on all major browser on Windows, Linux, and Macintosh systems and operates natively in Microsoft Office formats (.doc, .xls, and .ppt).

ThinkFree Docs now adds a social network around producers and their content. It is the newest way for people to come together to help each other meet, create, share and find what they need – from a template for a soccer schedule, marketing slide shows, and business plans, to a tuna casserole recipe, living wills, or screen plays hoping for discovery by an agent.

While other sites are just now launching to build communities around content, ThinkFree online users have been creating documents for over two years; building a community around them was a natural and important extension to the platform. ThinkFree Docs launches with users, content, and an existing community of 275,000 ThinkFree users . ThinkFree Docs brings an enhanced solution as compared to previous offerings, including: a stronger community focus, rich personal profiles, quality content, additional search and filtering capabilities. ThinkFree Docs runs on Amazon Webs Services, EC2 and S3, so users can always access the documents they need.
