Adobe Systems plans to launch Creative Suite 3 at a special event in New York on 27 March, marking the largest software release in the company's 25-year history.
The launch event will be webcast live, and will detail new product features as well as Creative Suite configurations. As part of the build up to the announcements, Adobe has released a teaser video on YouTube. The video is part of Adobe's
"What's In the Box" campaign, but doesn't reveal any product information.
What is clear is that
Creative Suite 3 will at least feature
Photoshop CS3. This major new release is already available in beta version, which includes the following new features:
- Smart filters: filters can be applied in the same way as adjustment layers in a non-destructive way. Filters no longer make hard changes to your image, but filters can be altered at any time.
- Quick selection: a new smart area selection that also works on masks and composite images.
- Vanishing point 2: the vanishing point feature of PS9 is heavily improved - allowing you to paste on perpendicular planes to fit onto anything.
Adobe last week confirmed plans to make an entry-level version of Photoshop available online as a hosted web service.
If you will take a closer look at the color wheel with the icons planned for the CS3 generation of Adobe application, maybe you will find the key to the "What's In the Box" video.
