Oracle today announced that PAETEC -- a leading communications service provider for
medium-sized and large businesses and institutions -- has selected Oracle's
industry-leading services-oriented architecture (SOA) applications. The
agreement leverages Oracle's end-to-end IT and communications applications
solution portfolio and includes new licenses for the Oracle(R) E-Business
Suite, Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment, Oracle Web Center Suite,
Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Identity Management, components of Oracle Fusion
Middleware and Oracle Database.
"PAETEC is at the forefront of bringing new innovative services to
market quickly and driving new levels of business automation," said David
Sharpley, Vice President of Product Marketing and Alliances, Oracle
Communications. "PAETEC's selection of Oracle over SAP clearly validates
Oracle's communications strategy and our compelling value proposition for
next-generation service providers."
"PAETEC continues to grow and needs an IT and operations support system
(OSS) infrastructure that can flexibly and cost-effectively evolve to meet
our next-generation service requirements," said Bob Moore, Chief
Information Officer, PAETEC. "We selected Oracle because of its proven
solution set for the communications industry, market leadership and ability
to efficiently enable our transformation to next-generation IP services."
PAETEC will leverage Oracle's SOA-based portfolio across its enterprise
to rapidly and efficiently consolidate operations and systems following its
recent merger with US LEC. The Oracle E-Business Suite will provide a
single, consolidated view of the customer, enable the automation of complex
service requests and deliver an enterprise platform for finance and human
capital management. Likewise, PAETEC has extended licenses for the Oracle
Communications Service Fulfillment portfolio's inventory management and
service activation applications to provide a consolidated and strategic
platform for efficiently managing future growth and enabling the rapid
launch of next-generation services.
As a cornerstone of its ongoing growth strategy, PAETEC will use
components of Oracle Fusion Middleware to quickly integrate newly acquired
systems and automate complex transactions across the business. PAETEC has
also selected Oracle Database to quickly realize Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
and enhance strategic decision-making through efficient and secure data
sharing.
