- Clal Insurance chooses Software AG's webMethods suite as a strategic infrastructure to improve business processes
- New processes to eliminate duplication of business activities
- Consistent customer information internally, and with partner banks, to reduce business costs
- The scope of the project is estimated to be a multi million dollar deal
Darmstadt, Germany,Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, today announced that Clal Insurance of Israel has chosen its webMethods Business Process management suite in a multi-million dollar deal. Clal Insurance will implement common business processes across its insurance, savings and pensions divisions, eliminating duplication of business logic, work practices and customer information. Clal Insurance will also improve its relationship management with partner banks in its pension business including Bank Leumi, Bank Hapoalim and Bank Discount.
Although project costs will be in the order of millions of dollars, the Software AG solution will maximize the investments already made by Clal Insurance through the modernization of the existing systems and business logic, through the integration of business processes between different systems and using the enterprise business processes of partners.
The project is being driven by the Life Pension & Long Term Saving division that currently uses relatively expensive core systems to maintain individual interfaces with other business units. According to Eli Negri, CIO, Life Pension & Long Term Saving, Clalbit Systems at Clal Insurance, “Multiple dedicated interfaces to transfer information between systems makes it difficult to support trans departmental processes and results in duplicate processes, inconsistent customer data and expensive system maintenance. We will eliminate all three with the new infrastructure.”
Software AG and Clal Insurance implemented a pilot system linking Clal Insurance with its partner banks to process client information requests delivering clear and consistent customer information. After the success of the pilot project Clal Insurance chose the full webMethods suite to serve as its strategic infrastructure for managing business processes and extended its scope to the Pension Managemet processes and to the main Life Insurance Management processes.
Said Eran Alroy, Country Manager at Software AG Israel, "Clal Insurance operates in an extremely competitive and dynamic market and fast business responses are essential. I am particularly happy that Software AG once again showed in a pilot project that it can quickly deliver and implement BPM based solutions that create business flexibility, fast responses and an early return on investment. Demonstrating such concrete results to customers, early, eliminates the risk of investments and allows them to focus on the return of investments."
