RSA Security
Conference -- McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) today announced that nine additional
companies have joined the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance, a technology
partnering program that accelerates the development of interoperable
security products and simplifies the integration of those products within
complex customer environments.
Four of these new partners -- High Tower, LogRhythm, SenSage and Skybox
Security -- and four previously announced SIA partners-Absolute Software,
Bit9, LogLogic and Q1 Labs-are showcasing their support for McAfee(R)
ePolicy Orchestrator(R) (ePO(TM)) to the public this week in the McAfee
Solution Pavilion Booth #1554 at the RSA Conference in San Francisco. Also
joining SIA but not present in the Solution Pavilion are partners
AccessData, Guidance Software, Intellitactics, SecureLogix and StillSecure.
"The McAfee Solution Pavilion provides an excellent opportunity to
highlight how our technology partners are innovating with us to improve
security industry-wide," said Joe Gottlieb, vice president of corporate
strategy and technology alliances, McAfee. "Together, McAfee and its
partners are building and testing a wide array of solutions that deliver
greater protection, reduced risk and increased compliance."
McAfee ePO lets enterprises and governments centrally manage security
and compliance products from multiple vendors, offering unprecedented cost
savings and return on investment. With this announcement, a total of 18
companies will be using McAfee's software development kit and application
programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate with ePO, leveraging the first
interoperability category made available to partners through the program.
Partner Commitment
AccessData provides the technology and training that empower law
enforcement, government agencies and corporations to perform thorough
computer investigations with speed and efficiency. AccessData delivers
state-of-the- art password cracking, decryption and computer forensic
solutions. AccessData's upcoming integration with ePO will deliver
comprehensive reporting, task-oriented workflows, and superior integrated
management capabilities.
"AccessData's decision to join the Security Innovation Alliance was
fueled in part by the prevalence of McAfee's enterprise-class security
products throughout our customer base, and the resulting customer demand
for integration with ePolicy Orchestrator," said Tim Leehealey, chief
executive officer, AccessData. "In addition, McAfee's commitment to
delivering integrated security solutions to its customer base is second to
none, and we were eager to add the power of our products to that solution
suite."
Guidance Software, maker of EnCase(R), addresses the full spectrum of
digital investigations -- ranging from internal investigations, audit and
compliance, electronic discovery for litigation support and incident
response. Upon successful validation testing with McAfee ePO, commercial
and government organizations worldwide can be assured that the two
companies' solutions are compatible and security management is simplified.
"Guidance Software commends McAfee for this program because it
simplifies the integration of diverse security products that organizations
must manage," said Larry Gill, vice president of marketing, Guidance
Software. "We look forward to working together with McAfee to provide
industry-leading eDiscovery, security, compliance risk management, and
information assurance solutions."
High Tower's new line of Cinxi(TM) Security Information and Event
Management (SIEM) appliances improve network security and satisfy the
growing number of regulatory compliance requirements. When combined with
the powerful information provided by McAfee ePO, IntruShield(R) and McAfee
Vulnerability Manager (formerly known as Foundstone), Cinxi can deliver
comprehensive real-time situational awareness for security threats and a
robust platform for managing logs and reporting for regulatory compliance
requirements.
"By partnering with McAfee, the leader in endpoint security protection,
we can rapidly integrate the ePolicy Orchestrator monitoring and reporting
technology with our market leading security products," said Joe Charron,
director of strategic marketing, High Tower. "This helps to ensure our
customers receive the most comprehensive, powerful solutions to protect
their critical information assets against constantly evolving threats."
Intellitactics provides enterprise security information and event
management software and appliances to help reduce costs, mitigate risks and
accelerate incident resolution. It plans to enhance the existing
integration with McAfee ePO so that joint customers can uncover and use
hidden information stored in log data to accelerate investigation and
response to security issues that threaten security and regulatory
compliance.
"Intellitactics already provides for the collection, correlation and
analysis of events and alerts from the ePolicy Orchestrator solution," said
Mike Cerick, vice president of strategic alliances at Intellitactics. "This
new relationship will enable bidirectional capabilities that will increase
the efficiency of achieving compliance objectives and securing the
enterprise."
The LogRhythm solution is a log management and analysis application
that helps organizations automate and simplify compliance, secure their
networks and information assets and optimize IT operations. LogRhythm's
solution currently supports McAfee ePO, with further integration work
underway to help its mutual users quickly and efficiently tap the
comprehensive log management and analysis capabilities of the LogRhythm
system.
"The Program's "Triple Promise" of Threat Protection, Risk Reduction
and Compliance Management aligns closely with LogRhythm's vision," said
Mike Reagan, vice president of marketing and business development for
LogRhythm. "Together with McAfee through our SIA partnership, we are
confident that our collective and integrated solutions will turn our triple
promise into reality for our joint customers."
SecureLogix Corporation enables secure, optimized and efficiently
managed enterprise voice networks. The combination of McAfee ePO with the
network-wide security, visibility and control that SecureLogix(R) Voice
Security Solutions provide will give customers a true 360 degree security
perimeter, delivering compliance, usage awareness and enforcement.
"Our customers have been asking us to work with market leaders, and
McAfee is clearly a security leader," said Joe O'Donnell, vice president of
business development at SecureLogix. "By working with McAfee, SecureLogix
will add a market leading converged security value to our joint customers.
Customers will benefit greatly from the combination that our patented voice
security, voice compliance, and voice safety will offer when combined with
McAfee security solution."
The SenSage solution for McAfee integrates SenSage's powerful log data
warehouse with McAfee's products to provide comprehensive compliance
reporting, and enable fast, accurate investigations and forensics. The
integrated solution collects, stores and reports on massive volumes of log
data from many McAfee products, including ePO and IntruShield.
"Our customers are asking for more tightly integrated solutions with
McAfee's security and compliance products, such as ePolicy Orchestrator,"
Dan Barahona, vice president of business development, SenSage. "With our
participation in the McAfee SIA program, SenSage is building a security log
warehouse for all McAfee products that can be accessed through ePO to
enable investigations, forensics and compliance reporting from a single,
intuitive dashboard."
Skybox Security, Inc. provides automated risk assessment and compliance
analysis software to global organizations. With Skybox View, enterprises
can accurately pinpoint and prioritize high areas of risk and compliance
exposures in minutes versus weeks or months. By combining Skybox and McAfee
ePO, customers can automate risk management and network security compliance
processes through solutions that improve security while lowering compliance
cost.
"We support McAfee's initiative to deliver open and effective risk,
compliance and security solutions," said Gidi Cohen, founder and chief
strategy officer, Skybox Security. "Together, we can help our mutual
customers proactively assess their ever-changing risk and compliance
without breaking the bank, offering them a fast return on their
investment."
StillSecure specializes in commercial and open source secure network
infrastructure solutions. StillSecure will integrate Safe Access with
McAfee ePO to provide a complete solution for network and host-based NAC.
Through the integration, Safe Access will provide additional enforcement
options for McAfee NAC customers, and provide access control for unmanaged
devices that don't have the ePO agent installed.
"McAfee and StillSecure have a complementary offering that provides an
easy-to-manage, integrated solution for complete NAC," said Alan Shimel,
chief strategy officer at StillSecure. "We are excited that McAfee has
opened up their application programming interfaces (APIs) because it
supports our strategy for providing open, flexible, interoperable security
solutions that can be integrated into the existing security environment."
