The MDX luxury SUV
remained the top selling Acura model with March sales of 4,434 units. Total
Acura sales for March tallied 13,288 units, down 15.8 percent based on the
daily selling rate* compared to March 2007. Year-to-date**, Acura vehicle
sales total 37,540 units.
"The economy is challenging all automakers to raise their game," said
Dick Colliver, executive vice president of sales. "Acura is ready for the
challenge with three new sedans coming to market this year, including the
all-new TSX which goes on sale later this month."
March 2008 sales for Acura sedans was led by the TL performance luxury
sedan with 4,269 units sold followed by the TSX sports sedan with 2,280
units and RL luxury performance sedan with 548 units sold. In addition, the
RDX turbocharged crossover SUV sold 1,757 units.
*The daily selling rate is calculated with 26 selling days for March
2008 and 28 selling days for March 2007.
**Year-to-date sales based on 76 days for 2008 versus 77 days for 2007.
