Morris Communications Company is
adding PopOut Maps and travel guides to its range of travel publications
with the acquisition of Compass Maps Ltd. The announcement was made today
by William S. Morris III, chairman and CEO of Morris Communications Co.
"Compass produces innovative, high-quality maps that travelers can
literally take anywhere," Morris said. "PopOut maps and guides are an
excellent resource and can be customized to provide a variety of
information to visitors. Compass is a great fit for Morris and will augment
our travel publications portfolio."
Derek Dacey founded Compass Maps in 1993 and will continue to serve
with the Bristol, England-based company as its managing director. Compass'
maps and guides are distributed in more than 50 countries and in multiple
languages across the world, including North America, Europe, Asia and
Australasia.

publishing and special markets will flourish within Morris' unique visitor
publications and book publishing divisions," Dacey said. "Our commitment to
