On Wednesday, April 16,
2008, Paramount Pictures will celebrate its 13th Annual Viacommunity Day.
The employee volunteerism and community outreach effort, inaugurated by
Viacom in 1995, will benefit Los Angeles charities and schools. Paramount
is a unit of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B).
Over 500 Los Angeles-based employees from Paramount Pictures,
DreamWorks Pictures, Paramount Vantage, MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies
will spend part of their work day at on and off-lot project sites to
support 10 Los Angeles charities and schools.
In addition, Viacom's other divisions, including MTV Networks and BET
Networks, have volunteer activities planned in five other U.S. cities.
Throughout New York, Chicago, Detroit, Miami and Washington D.C., Viacom
employees will celebrate and continue the company's tradition of
volunteerism by serving meals to the hungry, improving public spaces,
mentoring kids and otherwise giving back to the communities in which they
work and live.
"On this special day of service the entire Paramount family takes a
moment from the business of making movies to get involved in creating a
better community," said Brad Grey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Paramount Pictures Corporation. "Viacommunity Day is an honored tradition
for our employees and reminds us that we each have the power to make a
difference."
