Urban Caucus Chair Praises Obama Jobs Plan as Bold, Wise and City-Friendly

WASHINGTON, Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), Chairman of the Congressional Urban Caucus, releases this statement in support of President Obama's job creation plan:

"President Obama has unveiled a bold plan with multiple steps that will create jobs quickly and provide immediate incentives for businesses to invest, hire and expand. I am supporting the President wholeheartedly as he moves ahead with today's jobs acceleration initiative.

"The Obama plan - wisely investing the $200 billion 'dividend' derived from successful TARP efforts earlier this year - provides special benefits to our cities. As Chairman of the Congressional Urban Caucus, I have advocated for aid to small businesses, which are the major employers and backbone of city neighborhoods. And that's a major part of the Obama Jobs Plan.

"In addition there are infrastructure, energy efficiency and clean energy incentives that will create jobs right away - green jobs, good-paying jobs, jobs with real results that strengthen our nation.

"Hats off - and hard hats on - to our President. America is going to work."
