Toyota Division passenger cars recorded sales of 52,616 units, a decrease of 5 percent from last January.  Passenger car sales were led by Corolla with sales of 17,121 units for the month. Camry and Camry Hybrid posted combined January sales of 15,792 units.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) announced today details of the vehicle-based remedy to address the root cause of the potential risk for floor mat entrapment of accelerator pedals in certain Toyota and Lexus models.

The 2010 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid, which went on sale in March 2009, debuted revised exterior styling, a new four-cylinder powertrain and new safety, audio and convenience features. All Camry gas models are now equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VCS) with traction control (TRAC) as standard.
